Our Constitution is color-blind.

“Our Constitution is color-blind, and neither knows nor tolerates classes among citizens.” So said Supreme Court Justice John M. Harlan in his dissent from the infamous 1896 decision that upheld racial segregation. Today, California’s Constitution “is color-blind, and neither knows nor tolerates classes among citizens.” It is up to us to keep it that way, by defeating Prop 16.
